Michelle Troconis Guilty in Jennifer Dulos Case

"Michelle Troconis Found Guiltyon All Charges in Jennifer Dulos Case: Sentencing Set for May 31"

Michelle Troconis has been declared guilty on all charges related to the 2019 disappearance of Jennifer Dulos. The verdict, delivered by a six-member jury in Stamford Superior Court after more than two days of deliberation, includes counts such as conspiracy to commit murder and tampering with physical evidence on multiple occasions.

Troconis, visibly upset, sobbed as the guilty verdicts were announced. The charges she faces include conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit tampering with physical evidence, tampering with physical evidence, and second-degree hindering prosecution. The judge raised her bond to $6 million after the verdict, and if she makes bail, she will be subject to electronic monitoring and home confinement during the appeal process.

Despite her attorney, Jon Schoenhorn, expressing disappointment with the verdict, Troconis was led away in handcuffs to York Correction Institution. The sentencing is scheduled for May 31, and she could face a maximum of 50 years in prison.

Jennifer Dulos went missing on May 24, 2019, and her body has never been found. Prosecutors argued that Fotis Dulos, her estranged husband, attacked her, and Troconis, his girlfriend at the time, played a role in the alleged crime. Fotis Dulos, a luxury home builder, died by suicide in January 2020 after being charged with Jennifer's murder.

Troconis' family maintains her innocence, and her sister, Claudia Marmol, expressed confidence that time would prove it. Jennifer Dulos' friend, Carrie Luft, released a statement on behalf of the family, emphasizing the absence of closure as Jennifer's body remains unfound.

Throughout the trial, prosecutors presented evidence suggesting Troconis' involvement, including her answering Fotis Dulos' phone on the morning of the incident and accompanying him to dispose of bags containing items with Jennifer Dulos' DNA. Troconis claimed ignorance of the contents and asserted that Fotis Dulos could have transferred her DNA unknowingly.

Schoenhorn argued that Troconis did not know about the alleged plot and highlighted potential miscommunications during her interviews with the police. The defense pointed to language barriers and the impact of traumatic events on memory as factors influencing Troconis' statements.

Despite the guilty verdict, Troconis maintains her innocence, and the case underscores the ongoing mystery of Jennifer Dulos' whereabouts.
