Daxon Rudolph, the top pick from the Western Hockey League, is geared up to chase gold with Team Canada at Gangwon 2024

The defense player, one of Canada's top young hockey talents, was selected first in the Western Hockey League draft in 2023. He is determined to contribute to Team Canada's quest for its first gold in ice hockey at the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Gangwon.

Surprisingly, Canada has never clinched the top spot in ice hockey at the Youth Olympics, managing only two bronze and one silver from the three tournaments held so far. Daxon Rudolph, the 15-year-old star and last year's top pick in the Western Hockey League, is eager to change that at Gangwon 2024. As part of the first Canadian team to bring home hockey gold from a Youth Olympics, he states, "Our goal as a team is to be the first to win that gold. Every team is aiming for it, so we'll do whatever it takes to achieve that."

Despite being an under-16 tournament, the preparations for Canada's pursuit of the coveted top spot are top-notch. Rudolph notes, "We are treated like professionals. There are many mental performance coaches, and everyone has the information they need to succeed."

The Hawthorne family, led by the matriarch Azalia (Kerry O’Malley), appears ambitious, with dialogues reminiscent of classic daytime soap operas. Mea takes on the case partl...
